I picked up Stand and Salute yesterday from ACMoore. I love the frame feature. I cut it at 5 3/4, and I cut the flag at 2inches to layer inside. I love this cartridge. I see now I can start scrappin my 911 tribute stuff.

SSPT Design Team Challenge #3 "Roses"

For Deb's challenge:"April showers bring may flowers...Main focus for May 1st challenge is flowers, but there is a twist...something has to be 3D - it doesnt matter what, it can be a box, journal, purse, an altered item or a card with a 3D embellishment on it. Anything goes the choice is yours...just remember flowers and 3 dimensional."

This was a great one for Mothers Day. I used Suebluerobots tutorial to make the paper flowers. The 6 petal flowers were cut from the Cricut Storefront cartridge. I also etched the glass vase with hearts from the wedding solutions cartridge but could not get a good picture (sorry).

I have received several questions about the tutorial here is the link to Sue's blog http://susanbluerobot.blogspot.com/2008/09/how-to-make-paper-roses.html

SSPT 1st DT Challenge "SWEET 16" card

This was not the original idea I had in my head for this project.... but I love the way it turned out and I hope you do too!

For our first challenge from Jason we could create anything. We just needed to use the word "sweet" use mostly "pink" and have a "sweet treat" as our element. This was a great first challenge thank you.

I used my new Sizxix embossing folder, nesties labels 4, and paper from K&Co. Sweet Talk stack. I colored the embossed image with chalk. I put some stickles on the candle (it did not show up well in the picture). Cut the word "Sweet" from Cricut Stone Script at 1 inch and the "16" from Plantin Schoolbook at 3/4 in.
check out the other wonderful creations my team mates have come up with at http://www.sugarsweetpapertreats.blogspot.com/

May Class Project "Piglet Card"

For this card I used Magic Wanda's (from the Cricut MB) idea from her heart cut file, however I did not use the cut file. I used the centerpoint feature on the expression machine with the eksuccess punches to achieve the same result for my piglet card. Thanks Wanda for the inspiration.
